A heartfelt thank you from the ED

On September 25 BCITS held it’s annual AGM (followed by a Social) at Granville Island’s Performance Works. The AGM is an opportunity to participate in the governance of the Society and hear about the work the Board has undertaken to serve the BCITS membership throughout the year. The results of the AGM elections has welcomed back Christine Gordon, Don Danbrook, Ken Kramer, Ean Price, Walt Lawrence, Terry LeBlanc,  Anthony Chan and Nancy Paris who have all accepted their nomination for another year. Please check out their bios on our website to find out more about our dedicated Board Members.

The Pathways to Independence Social followed the AGM. It was introduced by Paul Gauthier from IFRC. The Social offered a fun time to mingle, enjoy some tasty nibbles and drinks while watching a performance by the Fuse Wheelchair Dance Society (and even join in a dance demonstration!). BTW, Fuse is looking for more dancers to join their Saturday class. For more information please check out their Facebook page.

We are happy to announce that IFRC is continuing to partner with us hosting the Pathways to Independence peer group. Future meeting details will be circulated nearer the time but for now I can share some dates and times you may want to block out so you can join us for some or all of these meetings: they will run from 2.30 to 5.45pm on 14th November 14, January 15, February 13, and March 13 at the Sunset Community Centre on Main Street. I hope to welcome many of you at those fun and informative meetings!

I would like to take this opportunity to extend a big thank you to everyone who joined us to at the AGM and Social as well as thank the staff and volunteers who helped on the night. And of course, thank you to our corporate sponsors: West Care, Medigas, Hub International and RBC who provided the drinks, food, venue and photo booth.
